Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains which personal data we process when you visit this website and send a booking request. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

Controller

Anke + Nils Homberger, Guggenweg 2, 3818 Grindelwald, Switzerland.

Booking requests

When you send a request via the form, we store the data you provide (name, email, phone, country, city, travel dates, number of guests, message). We use this data solely to answer your request, prepare an offer and process any rental contract. Data is not passed on to third parties unless required for the contract (e.g. payment provider) or by law (e.g. guest registration / tourist tax).

Requests that do not lead to a contract are deleted after 12 months at the latest. Booking data is kept as long as required by statutory retention obligations.

Guest register

If you book with us, we keep your contact details in an internal guest register so that we recognise you on a future stay and see your bookings together. If you wish, we also record your address, date of birth and nationality (e.g. for guest registration). The register is accessible only to us as hosts. On request, we delete or anonymise your details; booking data that we must keep for legal reasons is then retained without personal reference.

Server log data

When you visit the website, our hosting provider stores technically necessary information (e.g. IP address, date and time, page accessed, browser) to operate the site securely. To prevent abuse, we store a non-reversible hash of your IP address for a maximum of one hour when you send a request.

Cookies and visitor statistics

This website does not set cookies for visitors and does not use third-party analytics or tracking services.

For our own anonymous visitor statistics we count page views, the previous website (only its address, e.g. google.com), language, country and region, device type and the arrival months selected in the calendar. Country and region are determined on our own server from the IP address; the IP address itself is not stored. Visits are distinguished only by a daily changing, non-reversible hash that is deleted at the end of the day. After that, only aggregated daily figures without any personal reference remain. The data stays on our server and is not passed on to third parties. Country data: IP Geolocation by DB-IP (CC BY 4.0).

Google Maps

The map in the contact section is only loaded when you actively click on it. Data (including your IP address) is then transferred to Google, including to the USA. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.

Your rights

You may request information about the data we store about you at any time, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Please contact us at the address above.
